The Merck Index is a one-volume encyclopedia of chemicals, drugs and biologicals that contains 10,450 monographs with 7,033 derivatives, 32 supplemental tables, and 450 Organic Name Reactions. There are 50 new approved monographs added, for a total of 10,450 monographs.
The following updates have been added to all the monographs:
The derivatives for all 10,450 monographs that have them, have been added to the Basic Physical Properties and the Health and Safety Related Properties tables, resulting in 7,033 extra records, for a total of 17,483 records in each of these tables.
The properties for the substances covered by retired monographs (and their derivatives) have been added to two new tables.
