The Merck Index is a one-volume encyclopedia of chemicals, drugs and biologicals that contains 10,600 monographs with 7,166 derivatives, 32 supplemental tables, and 450 Organic Name Reactions. There are 28 new approved derivatives added. The following updates have been added to all the monographs: The derivatives for all 10,600 monographs that have them, have been added to the Basic Physical Properties and the Health and Safety Related Properties tables, resulting in 7,166 extra records, for a total of 17,766 records in each of these tables. The structures have also been added to the interactive tables for the active monographs. The properties for the substances covered by retired monographs (and their derivatives) have been added to two new tables.
